The word Dermatoglyphics is derived from the ancient Greek word (Derma = skin, glyph = carving) the term was coined by Dr. Harold Cummins, the Father of Finger Print analysis. The process of fingerprint identification had been used for several hundred years now.
Dermatoglyphics refers to that branch of science which studies the patterns of skin (derma) ridges present on the fingers, toes and the soles of humans. It reveals the congenital links between our fingers and brain helping us to understand our inherent qualities and talents. These fingerprint patterns are formed during the fetal development stage, the human fingerprints are formed in the mother’s womb itself during 13th to 21st week of pregnancy which remains the same throughout the life.
Dermatoglyphics is the study of Genetics, Embryology, Anatomy, Neuroscience, Psychology & Anthropology, Scientists all over the world have been conducting research in this area from last 400 years & many journals have been published on Dermatoglyphics. Medical experts and scientists thus discovered that the amount of brain cells distributed in different parts of the brain helps us to understand a person’s multiple intelligences as well as his innate potential capabilities and personality through DMIT. The main thrust of scientific Dermatoglyphics research has been directed into genetic research and the diagnosis of chromosomal defects. Over the last thirty years or so, more than four thousand medical research papers have been written on the significance of skin-ridge patterns!. Dermatoglyphics is study of Finger Prints.
Our fingerprints thus helps us in understanding ourselves better and transforming our lives through a Holistic approach.
